My American Heart were good friends with Matt's band Downtown Singapore, who went on indefinite hiatus in July 2006 while MAH was in need of a permanent replacement for Jeremy Mendez. Matt joined MAH in November 2006, but left in early 2008 because he was homesick from the constant touring.

Jeremy left the band in May 2006 for personal reasons. After taking the summer off, he was intended to return to the band in the fall of 2006, but his relationship with the band members had deteriorated, and he instead decided to take down MAH with internet slander.

Clint was one of the founding members of My American Heart, but he left in the fall of 2004 when the band wanted to leave school to tour full time. He remains close friends with the band and has produced some of Jesse's solo songs. He also filled in for the band at Bamboozle Left in October 2006 when Jeremy Mendez bailed. |

Brian was enlisted as a permanent replacement for Clint, but he left after only a few months due to creative differences with the band. He has since described MAH as "a lame cock-rock band." His only recordings with MAH are the 2004 demos of White Lines and Don't Sleep.

Keith played a few shows with My American Heart in the spring of 2005 and was intended to play all of Warped Tour with the band, but he left after only a few dates when his grandfather died. He never recorded with the band, but he appears in the music video for The Process. Despite his short tenure, he remains friends with the band.
